Metin Cakanyildirim,美国德克萨斯大学达拉斯分校教授，善于利用构造数学模型来反映现实生产经营问题，并利用优化方法或启发式方法提出科学决策。研究领域涉及能源、航空、酒店、零售、租赁、半导体等。

自2010年起Metin教授担任INFORMS-DFW分会主席，担任Education and the Associate Executive Director of the POM Society副执行主任。加入Global Association for Risk Professionals (GARP)，Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP), Institute of Supply Management (ISM)等协会。担任MSOM期刊副编辑和POM期刊高级编辑。
