报告摘要:
Overconfidence is a key behavioral factor in transshipment, but its operational impacts are rarely explored. We establish an analytical framework and conduct laboratory experiments to study this bias. Our results show that decentralized transshipment can outperform centralized ones when newsvendors are sufficiently overconfident, as overconfidence offsets decentralization inefficiency. We also find coordinating transfer prices do not exist under high overconfidence, and system performance depends on strategic alignment of transfer prices with profit margins. These findings provide insights for designing behavioral-robust transshipment contracts.
